Counselling in St Albans
With compassion and by listening about what troubles you, I aim to help you access a deeper level of understanding about yourself and how you relate to others, in a safe and respectful space. Therapy sessions are on a regular basis and last for fifty minutes. As a therapist in Harpenden and St Albans, I offer weekly sessions, on the same day and the same time each week. We are all unique and I structure the therapeutic relationship around you: I interpret what I feel is happening in our working alliance in a way of helping you to reach lasting fulfilment that endures way past your time in therapy.
By agreeing to see each other once a week we will explore the situation you feel troubled by from different perspectives. As your therapist in Harpenden, I will use my skills to work with you to ease what troubles you. I am not in a position to give you advice as no one knows how to live your life best other than you yourself. You will be provided with a warm and non-judgemental environment – allowing you to express your thoughts aloud and find the right answers.
The experience of talking about your problems can be painful and this takes commitment of staying with the process to facilitate personal insights. If you choose to end therapy at any point, this is something I respect and my patient’s autonomy and a wish to proceed is your decision. All I ask is that we work towards an ending together that looks after you and leaves you with a feeling of containment.
There is no need to wait for months to speak to someone as there are no long waiting lists to be added to. We are close to Harpenden, Wheathampstead, St. Albans and Hemel Hempstead.
Everything discussed during the session is confidential. However, there might be circumstances when I will be obliged to breach confidentiality: If I believe there’s a danger that you may cause serious harm to yourself or another person. If you disclose information relating to acts of terrorism or money laundering, I am legally bound to report it to the relevant authorities without consultation.
